About Collective Tapestry
Where disciplines meet. Dialogue deepens. Practice evolves.

Our beginning
Collective Tapestry was born from a simple belief: healthcare professionals need spaces to come together, think together and learn from one another.
In an increasingly digital and fast-paced professional world, we wanted to create opportunities to return to something deeply valuable — real, in-person learning, meaningful connection and thoughtful conversation amongst colleagues.
Our CPD-accredited workshops are designed to move beyond traditional professional development. They create spaces for deep learning, curiosity and dialogue, where different healthcare professionals can bring their unique expertise to a shared clinical question.
Because no single discipline holds the whole picture.
Why Collective Tapestry?
Children and families rarely experience their challenges within the boundaries of a single profession.
A child's emotional wellbeing may intersect with their physical health, development, nutrition, relationships, learning, sensory world and family context. Yet healthcare professionals can often find themselves working within professional silos, each viewing the child through the lens of their own discipline.
Collective Tapestry exists to create opportunities to step outside those silos. We bring professionals together around a shared clinical theme, inviting each speaker to explore that theme from the perspective of their own scope and discipline. The day is centred around a keynote perspective, followed by complementary professional voices that expand, challenge and deepen the conversation.
The learning then comes alive when the speakers come together.
Our philosophy
The most effective healthcare does not emerge from isolated expertise.
It is woven together through the collective wisdom of professionals who are willing to listen, question, challenge and learn from one another.
When those threads remain separate, we see only fragments of the picture. When they are brought together intentionally, we begin to see the complexity of the child, the family and the wider system in a more meaningful way.
Collective Tapestry creates the space for that weaving to happen.
Our workshops are therefore designed not simply to place different professionals on the same stage, but to model the kind of interdisciplinary collaboration we want to see reflected in clinical practice. We want attendees to leave not only with new knowledge, but with new questions, new connections and a broader way of thinking about the children and families they support.
From learning to integrated care
We want to contribute to a culture of healthcare in which professionals are better equipped to understand the child as part of a complex, interconnected system — and where collaboration across disciplines becomes an integral part of clinical thinking, intervention, treatment and care.
01
Understanding the child from multiple perspectives rather than through a single professional lens.
02
Creating stronger connections between professionals and disciplines.
03
Encouraging professionals to question, explore and deepen their understanding of their own practice.
04
Recognising the interconnected relationships between children, families, schools, communities and healthcare professionals.
05
Ensuring that professional expertise ultimately serves the needs, experiences and wellbeing of children and their families.
06
Translating richer conversations and integrated thinking into more responsive clinical intervention, treatment and care.
We believe that when professionals think together, children receive better care.
Our workshops
Each Collective Tapestry workshop is built around a central topic or clinical theme. Rather than hearing several unrelated presentations, attendees are taken on a journey through multiple professional perspectives on one shared question.
01
who establishes the central theme and invites us to think differently.
02
where professionals explore the same theme through their own areas of expertise, contributing knowledge, experience and practical clinical insight.
03
where speakers come together to explore the intersections between their perspectives, identify connections and consider where their disciplines can learn from one another.
04
who are not passive recipients of information, but part of the collective learning experience — bringing their own questions, reflections and professional contexts into the conversation.
The intention is not to arrive at one definitive answer. It is to leave with a richer understanding of the question.
How we learn
Collective Tapestry is grounded in a shift from learning alongside one another to learning with one another.
We want to create professional spaces where a psychologist can hear a psychiatrist's thinking, where a dietitian can contribute to a conversation about mental health, where a paediatrician can bring a medical perspective into a developmental discussion, and where every discipline has the opportunity to both contribute and learn.
This is interdisciplinary practice in action. Not simply talking about collaboration.
Embodied collaboration.
Our bigger vision
We envision Collective Tapestry growing beyond individual workshops into an interdisciplinary learning community — one that connects healthcare professionals through shared learning, meaningful dialogue and a commitment to improving care.
Over time, this may include workshops, conferences, conversations, podcasts, publications, research collaborations, mentorship and other opportunities for professionals to connect across disciplines.
Whatever form it takes, the purpose remains the same:
To create better conversations between professionals so that we can create better care for children and families.
Impact beyond the room
It can create connection.
It can challenge assumptions.
It can open new ways of thinking.
It can strengthen relationships between professionals.
We believe professional development can do more than transfer knowledge. And it can have an impact beyond the people sitting in the room.
Meaning, impact and purpose are therefore woven into the philosophy of Collective Tapestry. We are committed to exploring ways in which our success can contribute to greater access to meaningful professional learning and support initiatives that create positive change in the wider community.
Because the tapestry should extend beyond the room.
What we believe
No profession has the whole picture.
Curiosity is as important as expertise.
Collaboration should be experienced, not simply discussed.
When professionals think together, children receive better care.
When professionals come together to think together, we create the possibility of better care for children, young people and their families.
